Current Clamps
A current clamp is a device that measures current by sandwiching the wiring. It is mainly used for electrical work and electrical maintenance. This mechanism detects the magnetic field generated at the moment when the current flows and displays the output in proportion to it. Therefore, the current can be measured even with the wiring still coated. Another advantage is that large currents can be easily measured because direct connection to a circuit is not necessary. Clamps generally have a trigger and a display for measurement values. In some cases, the display part is lit by a backlight. There are the CT method, which is less expensive, the Rogowski coil method, which can easily measure large currents, the fluxgate method, which has high measurement accuracy, and the Hall element method, which can measure both auxillary current and direct current.
